Ports and Voyages is a global social enterprise built around three pillars, storytelling, opportunity, and sustainability, linking communities through the sea that connects us all.

Join the Stories Exchange

Connecting people, ports, and possibilities across the world.

1. The Stories Exchange

The heart of Ports and Voyages.

The Stories Exchange connects classrooms across the world through letters that travel the same seas our ancestors once did. Students write about their families’ connections to ports, voyages, and migration — stories of work, travel, and heritage passed down through generations.

These letters are carried aboard real cruise ships, physically crossing oceans to reach partner schools. When they arrive, students read and reinterpret the stories through art, film, or performance, creating a global conversation that celebrates shared history and creativity.

The Stories Exchange is live now, with schools around the world joining the voyage.

2. The Voyages Programme

The next generation of maritime opportunity.

The Voyages Programme is designed for 18–25-year-olds who are neurodivergent or from underprivileged backgrounds, helping them discover real pathways into the cruise, tourism, and heritage sectors.

Through partnerships with cruise lines, port authorities, and cultural organisations, participants gain apprenticeships, training placements, and mentoring that provide hands-on experience and a sense of belonging in industries often seen as out of reach.

Launching soon, the Voyages Programme will give young people the tools, confidence, and connections to build their own future journeys.

3. The Sustainability Mission

Protecting the seas that connect us all.

Our Sustainability Mission brings education and action together to inspire environmental awareness in schools and port communities.

From student-led “Letters for the Ocean” campaigns to collaborative projects with sustainable ports and cruise partners, we’re helping young people understand how global travel, trade, and tourism can exist in harmony with our planet.

In development, this mission will grow into a dedicated education and outreach programme promoting sustainable thinking across every voyage we take.

Together, these three pillars form a single purpose: to connect people through stories, empower young minds through opportunities, and protect the oceans that carry us all.
